This is a strongly basic anion exchange resin consisting of a copolymer of cross-linked polystyrene and divinylbenzene which is a subsequently chlorinated and treated with a tertiaryamine.
Here the active group is quarternary ammonium. The particle size is 20-50 mesh and the resin is supplied in the Cloride (-Cl) form. The cross linking is 8%. It has an ion exchange capacity of 1.4meq/ml wet and 3.5meq/g dry.
The resin is generally used for water conditioning, removal or recovery of high molecular weight anions, fractional separation of organic of organic acids, separation of amino acids, separation of metals as anionic complexes.
